One of the rules of metadata is that it must exist at a HIGHER level of abstraction than the data it describes. This 'rule' bothered me so I tried to break it. The process of making these software generated images included randomly embedding metadata tags directly into the abstract composition being made and described. So it seems to me that the tags are now at a lower level of abstraction. The underlying data (the image) is comprised of its metadata, and could not have existed as is without them - clearly more abstract. Is this possible? Not sure... but hey, I tried. (these pieces were originally html/css format like this but converted to jpeg images here for pragmatic purposes)
